Research shows that daily tongue cleansing is important to maintain a healthy, clean, fresh mouth. Regular tongue cleansing can significantly reduce plaque causing bacteria and the sources of bad breath which can build up on the tongue.
Toothbrush bristles are long and bend backwards when pressed into the tongue meaning they cannot access crevices where bacteria lurk. Toothbrushes are also narrow, taking much longer to clean the tongue and also make you gag.
Put some Tung Gel on your Tung Brush and extend your tongue out and gently brush from the back of the tongue to the tip (for approx 10 seconds). Repeat as necessary. Avoid swallowing.
Persistant bad breath can be a sign of gum disease, so ask your dentist or hygenist for advice. Drinking and eating strong smelling foods and drinks can cause bad breath, such as garlic, onions and coffee. Try chewing sugar free gum to combat this. Follow a good oral hygiene routine by brushing, flossing and using mouthwash. Drinking plenty of water is beneficial. Smoking causes bad breath and also mouth cancer. The Oxyfresh dental product range is also excellent for promoting fresh breath and doesn't simply mask the odour like other brands.
Tung Gel is not recommended for children under 10 years old
