What is an oral irrigator?

An oral irrigator or hydroflosser, sometimes described as a dental waterjet is the new 'must have' for people who really care about their oral hygiene. These products are designed to direct a jet of water, usually tepid, at your teeth and gums to remove food debris quickly and efficiently. Why should I use and an oral irrigator?
